Funeral Arrangements for Joe Johnson

Funeral arrangements have been set for Joe Johnson, University of Tennessee president emeritus.

Johnson passed away Sept. 29 at the age of 90. He was the UT System president from 1990 to 1999 and returned as interim president from 2003 to 2004. After retiring, he remained active in building relationships with alumni and donors, serving on community boards and consulting with University leaders.

The family will have a receiving of friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Church of Christ at 3457 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Church of Christ.
